Pelt8’s SaaS offers companies the way to collect sustainability data in an easy & auditable way. We recreate any reporting requirements on our platform & calculate C02 emissions using the same tool. We connect the data to other systems and solution providers. The tool is simple to set-up and to be used by consulting firms, managed service providers & auditors. Most competitors currently focus on a single vertical or lack to provide emission calculations if they are reporting orientated – we offer both. Additionally, we are working on various use cases that will allow sharing the data between various solution providers – essentially leading us to become a "gateway" to a sustainability ecosystem. Finally, we can flexibly setup our tool in less than a day with custom reports that reflect the clients' organisational structure – for most of our competitors this process takes much longer.

Problems Solved

While regulatory taxonomy & standardisation is developing rapidly, the sustainability ecosystem has limited interoperability due to (1) a lack of clean data and (2) no protocol for exchanging information between companies. Much of a sustainability teams’ time is currently spent collecting and aggregating data. Capturing the underlying data can involve 100s of people and is managed through emails and spreadsheets. Existing reporting processes are error-prone, resource intensive, and not scalable. A process that is often only run once a year for reporting purposes. Time spent on non-value adding activities (like data collection!) will have a large impact on the climate bottom line. As outlined by the IPCC report, most companies are late in implementing the changes required to meet their climate goals.

Our technology is built industry agnostic – there is no difference “technically” for a food & beverage company to collect their data compared to a financial services company. Our initial client focus is on companies (initially with a base in Switzerland) with between 500 and 2'500 FTEs, affected by regulation. Later we plan to target SMEs, but for this we need a higher degree of automation of the tool.
