Giovanni Gubbels, Jeroen Kemp, and Coen van Boxtel started ChainCargo in 2018 with the idea of making the transport market more sustainable and digital. By matching shippers to drivers who are already on the road, the digital road freight forwarder contributes to more efficient transport, fewer unnecessary kilometers, and a better environment. ChainCargo has over 40 employees and two offices in Eindhoven and Budapest. ChainCargo focuses on FTL transports within Europe and courier services in BeNeLux. ChainCargo has two products developed by in-house team: web application and mobile application. Via web application, shippers can book transport, organise their orders, and receive live status updates about their cargo. Via the same web system, carriers can manage the order delivery process, add their fleet, drivers, and bid on tenders. ChainCargo mobile application is intended for drivers. Drivers can update each step of the order delivery process directly on the app. This way, cargo can be tracked via live track&trace. As of April 2022, ChainCargo calculates CO2 emissions for every shipment booked via the platform and offsets 100% of those carbon emissions.
